Not sure where to start or what you need? Here's how to think through it.
Build Your Ideal Desk Setup
The Desk Surface: Pad vs. Mouse Pad
The desk pad covers your entire work surface. Keyboard, mouse, and everything in between. It's the foundation of the setup, and it's the piece that has the most visual impact.
The mouse pad is a smaller, dedicated surface for your mouse only. If you already have a desk pad or a surface you're happy with, but want something better under your mouse, the mouse pad is the right call.
If you're starting from scratch, go desk pad first. It does the job of a mouse pad and more.
Desk Pad Sizing
The desk pad comes in three widths (25", 30", 35") and three depths (11.5", 15", 18"). Here's how to choose:
- Width - measure the area you want to cover. A 25" pad fits a compact single-monitor setup or a keyboard-only zone. A 30" gives more breathing room and is the most popular choice. A 35" works well for wider desks or ultrawide monitor setups.
- Depth - 11.5" is the standard, covering keyboard and mouse comfortably. Go 15" or 18" if you want more coverage toward the front of your desk, or if you use a large mouse pad and want everything unified under one surface.
Don't see the size you need? Chat us or contact us, so we can make something just for you.
Colors
All wool products come in Charcoal, Shadow Gray, and Wool White. Charcoal is the most popular; it hides debris well and works with virtually any setup. Shadow Gray is a softer neutral. Wool White is clean and modern, but can show more over time.
The Organizers: Tray vs. Notepad Holder
Hardwood Organizer Tray - a catch-all for keys, a watch, wallet, earbuds, or whatever ends up on your desk. Available in Small, Medium, and Large in Walnut or Oak. If you're not sure about size, medium is the safe choice. It handles most EDC setups without taking up too much desk real estate.
Hardwood Notepad Holder - holds a standard 5" x8" notepad and features a built-in pen slot. If you keep a notepad on your desk, it stays accessible and positioned where you actually want it. Available in Walnut or Oak.
Both are CNC-milled from solid hardwood and lacquer-finished in Texas. Walnut is richer and darker; Oak is lighter with more visible grain.
The Wrist Rest
The wrist rest sits in front of your keyboard and gives your wrists somewhere to land during pauses, keeping them in a neutral position and reducing fatigue over long sessions. Every wrist rest is milled from solid hardwood and has a hand-rubbed lacquer finish.
- Size - match the wrist rest to your keyboard layout: Full Size (17.5") for keyboards with a numpad, Full Compact (16.5") for TKL boards with a function row, TKL (14") for 75% layouts, 65% (12.5") for boards with arrow keys but no function row, and 60% (11") for fully compact layouts. When in doubt, measure your keyboard's width.
- Thickness - 1/2" is the most popular choice and keeps wrists at a neutral angle on most desks. 3/4" adds more elevation, which works well on raised surfaces or with higher-profile, mechanical keyboards.
- Woods - available in Walnut, Oak, Stained Oak, Cherry, Maple, Mahogany, Purpleheart, and Wenge. See the full wrist rest collection for side-by-side comparisons and detailed wood species descriptions.
Coasters
Our wool felt coasters come as a set of 4 in the same colors as the desk pad and mouse pad, making it easy to match your surface. The cork backing protects your desk from rings and scratches while preventing it from sliding around.
If you already have the leather coasters from our leather collection, they pair naturally with a wool desk pad. The two materials complement each other well on any desk.
How It All Works Together
The desk pad anchors everything. Add a wrist rest for your keyboard, a mouse pad if you want a dedicated mouse surface, an organizer tray for your EDC, a notepad holder if you write by hand, and coasters for your drinks. It's a full setup that works as a system. Every piece is designed to sit on or near your desk without fighting for attention.
Custom Orders and Engraving
The hardwood & leather pieces - wrist rests, organizer tray, notepad holder, coasters, and mouse pads can all be engraved. Simple text doesn't add to production time. Custom artwork gets a mockup first. Non-standard wrist rest sizes are also available if your keyboard doesn't match a listed option. Reach out before you order.
Who is it for?
-
The Work-From-Home Professional
Your desk is where you spend most of your day. It should feel like it. A desk pad, a wrist rest, a tray for your essentials, and a coaster for your coffee go a long way toward making the space feel intentional.
-
The Gamer
A large desk pad protects your surface, gives your mouse room to move, and looks the part. Add a hardwood wrist rest, and save your hands during your next long gaming session.
-
The Minimalist
No clutter, no synthetic materials, no visual noise. Neutral colors, natural textures, and clean lines. Everything here is designed to disappear into your setup rather than compete with it.
-
The Productivity Person
A place for everything. The organizer tray corrals your EDC, the notepad holder keeps your paper and pen where you need them, and a clean desk surface makes it easier to stay in the zone.
-
The Typist
Hours at a keyboard add up. A hardwood wrist rest keeps your wrists in a neutral position during long sessions and doesn't flatten out or collect residue the way foam does. Built to perform the same on day one as it does years in.
-
The Gift Buyer
Handmade desk accessories in natural materials are the kind of gift that gets used every day. Practical, well-made, and nothing like what they'd pick up at a big box store.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a desk pad?
If you spend significant time at your desk, yes. A desk pad protects your surface from scratches and wear, gives your mouse a consistent tracking surface, cushions your wrists and forearms during long sessions, and makes the whole desk look put-together. It's one of the highest-impact changes you can make to a workspace for the cost.
What's the difference between the desk pad and the mouse pad?
The desk pad covers your full work area, keyboard, mouse, and everything between them. The mouse pad is a smaller, dedicated surface just for your mouse. If you want to upgrade your whole desk surface, go with the desk pad. If you already have a surface you're happy with but want something better under your mouse specifically, the mouse pad is the right choice.
What size desk pad should I get?
Measure the area you want to cover. The three widths: 25", 30", and 35", range from compact single-monitor coverage to wide multi-monitor setups. For depth, 11.5" covers keyboard and mouse comfortably, while 15" and 18" give more surface toward the front of the desk. If you're unsure, 30"x11.5" is the most versatile starting point.
What are the desk pad and mouse pad made from?
High-quality wool felt bonded to a natural cork base. The wool surface provides smooth, consistent mouse tracking and a comfortable feel underhand. The cork base grips your desk surface without scratching it and provides a firm, stable foundation that doesn't slip or bunch.
How do I care for the wool products?
For everyday maintenance, brush off debris with a soft brush or lint roller. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth, don't rub. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed, then lay flat to air dry. Avoid soaking or machine washing.
What wood options are available for the organizer tray and notepad holder?
Both come in Walnut and Oak. Walnut is darker with rich chocolate tones and a tight, straight grain. Oak is lighter with a more open, visible grain pattern. Both are lacquer finished for durability.
What sizes does the organizer tray come in?
Small, Medium, and Large. Medium is the most popular and handles most everyday carry setups, keys, a watch, wallet, earbuds, without taking up too much desk space. Go Small if you want something minimal, Large if you have more to corral.
Will the cork base scratch my desk?
No. Cork is naturally soft and non-abrasive. It grips your desk surface without marking it, making it safe on wood, glass, and most other desk surfaces.
Can the hardwood pieces be engraved?
Yes. Wrist rests, the organizer tray, and the notepad holder can all be engraved. Simple text initials, a name, or a short phrase typically doesn't add to production time. For logos or custom artwork, we'll follow up with a mockup before cutting. Reach out before you order, and we'll work out the details.
What size wrist rest fits my keyboard?
Match the wrist rest to your keyboard layout:
- Full Size (17.5") for keyboards with a numpad
- Full Compact (16.5") for TKL layouts with a function row
- TKL (14") for 75% boards
- 65% (12.5") for keyboards with arrow keys but no function row
- 60% (11") for fully compact boards
When in doubt, measure the width of your keyboard. Custom sizes are also available; reach out before ordering. We're happy to help!
Where are these made?
Every piece is handmade in our Fort Worth, Texas workshop. We cut, stitch, hand-rub, and engrave every piece in-house. The leather comes from Italy; the craftsmanship is our own.

How long does production take?
Most orders ship within 1β3 business days. Engraved orders with simple text typically fall within the same window. Custom artwork may add a day or two for mockup approval.
