Size: Match your keyboard, not your desk

Your wrist rest should match your keyboard's width, not extend beyond it.

  • Full Size (17.5 in.) - fits standard full-size keyboards with a numpad
  • Full Compact (16.5 in.) - fits tenkeyless (TKL) keyboards that retain the function row
  • TKL (14 in.) - fits compact 75% and tighter TKL layouts
  • 65% (12.5 in.) - fits 65% keyboards that ditch the function row but keep arrow keys
  • 60% (11 in.) - fits 60% keyboards stripped down to just the alphanumeric and modifier keys

When in doubt, measure the width of your keyboard. The wrist rest should sit flush or close to it.

Thickness: More support vs. more clearance

  • 1/2 in. - the most versatile choice. Low enough to keep your wrists in a neutral position on most desks without putting pressure on the tendons.
  • 3/4 in. - better if you type on a raised surface or prefer a slightly elevated wrist angle. Also gives the piece a more substantial, premium feel on the desk.

Wood: Character, color, and feel

Each species has its own personality:

  • Walnut - rich chocolate tones with straight grain. Timeless, warm, and the most popular pick for darker desk setups.
  • Oak - light and clean with visible grain. Pairs well with light wood tones and natural workspace aesthetics.
  • Black Stained Oak - all the structure of oak with a dramatic, black finish that highlights the natural grain. Ideal for dark or minimal setups.
  • Cherry - reddish-brown that deepens with age. One of the most tactilely smooth hardwoods you'll type on.
  • Maple - pale, almost white grain. Modern and clean. A strong choice if you want the wood to complement without competing.
  • Mahogany - warm reddish tone, smooth texture, and a refined feel underhand.
  • Purpleheart - the statement piece. Deep violet wood that holds its color and turns heads. If you want something nobody else has, this is it.
  • Wenge - very dark, with bold straight grain. One of the denser woods in the lineup and the most dramatic natural option.

Why hardwood over foam or rubber?

Foam compresses over time and can create pressure points. Hardwood keeps its shape indefinitely, wipes clean, and doesn't collect the oils and residue that fabric rests do. It also adds weight and stability to your desk setup; nothing shifts when you're mid-session.

Everything still comes out of our Texas shop with the same materials and finish.

How long does it take to make my wrist rest?

Every wrist rest is made to order in our Fort Worth, Texas workshop. Production typically takes 1–3 business days before your order ships. You're not pulling something off a warehouse shelf. It's being cut, finished, and inspected specifically for your order.

Where are your wrist rests made?

Every wrist rest is handcrafted in our Fort Worth, Texas workshop from solid hardwood. No veneers, no composites just real wood, milled and finished by hand.

Does engraving add to the production time?

It depends on what you're after. Simple text engraving, initials, a name, or a short phrase typically doesn't add any extra time to production. For images or custom artwork, we'll follow up with a mockup for your approval before we cut, which may add a day or two to the timeline. Either way, we'll keep you in the loop.

How do I clean and care for my wrist rest?

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking it or leaving liquids sitting on the surface. The lacquer finish is durable and doesn't require ongoing treatment, just keep it clean and dry. It'll hold up for years.

What finish is used on the wrist rest?

Our wrist rests are finished with lacquer, the same finish used on fine guitars, high-end furniture, and musical instruments. Lacquer forms a hard, clear protective layer over the wood that resists moisture, daily wear, and surface scratches while letting the natural grain show through. It cures to a smooth, consistent surface that feels great under your wrists and won't peel, flake, or require reapplication over time. It's one of the most proven wood finishes available.
